Graduated in Business Administration from UFRJ (1977). He holds a doctoral degree from EPGE/FGV-Rio, 1985. Is currently a professor at IAG PUC-Rio. He has work experience with Business Administration as well as published research on the subject, focusing on the following fields: Derivatives, Financial Markets, and Portfolio Management. In 2007 and 2008, he took a leave from PUC-Rio and directed, in São Paulo, the Educational Institute of BM&F. During this period, among the various activities in which he participated, he was one of the representatives of BM&F in the work group coordinated by the CVM, which was responsible for preparing the “Brazilian Strategy on Financial Education.” Author of the books "Introduction to Derivatives" (Introdução aos Derivativos) and "International Finance," (Finanças Internacionais) published in 2002 and 2008, respectively, and of several articles on derivatives in national and international congresses and in specialized magazines.
