PUC-Rio and its Business School
Renowned for its excellence in academic research, Rio de Janeiro’s Pontifícia Universidade Católica is a non profit institution founded in 1940, distinguished by the production and transmission of knowledge, based on the respect for human values and Christian Ethics. It is organized into four centres, 24 departments and 13 institutes which comprise several areas of knowledge.
Over the last few years, the school has celebrated agreements with universities and research institutions of 40 countries, strengthening its internationalization project. PUC-Rio is also known for its commitment to sustainability and it is the first university in Brazil to develop an environmental agenda. Its campus is an invitation to the appreciation of nature: PUC-Rio’s ecological park shelters over 200 identified and catalogued species, many of which are threatened with extinction.
It was in this setting and with PUC-Rio’s academic excellence that the Business School was created in 1958. The school has five research centres and offers undergraduate, Master’s, Doctoral Programs, as well as executive education courses and in Company Programs with the objective of forming professionals with high humane and technical qualification to become academic researchers and managers of national and international corporations.
